ERES is an initiative led by dot. and co-created by Talento Para el Futuro, VOICE_ES and Startup Commission, which aims to create a disruptive space within the social entrepreneurship ecosystem, in which new voices and referents of collectives that have been underrepresented until now can transform the hegemonic narrative, taking diversity as the main foundation.

The potential of diversity

When Ashoka Spain and Google.org asked us to create a New Narratives Lab within the framework of Impacta+, we discovered that the voices that create imaginaries in the field of entrepreneurship and other sectors are very homogeneous. This means that diverse people often do not feel represented in the different spaces, calls or communications that currently exist, missing the great potential of knowing and listening to different views and realities.

“All individuals who are part of society are potential agents of change and only from a common experience where diversity is an indispensable factor, we will be able to build a new, more inclusive and plural social reality”.

ERES Community: A plural diagnosis of our diversity

ERES has been created on the basis of diversity. Therefore, it arises from the voice of migrants and minorities in Spain, who either represent these groups, or who have developed or are currently working in social innovation projects.

With this community, we built the First Diagnosis of Migrant and Minority Entrepreneurship in Spain—a pioneering research with which we identified the main challenges faced by minorities in accessing entrepreneurship, such as “eliminating the lifetime migrant label (Challenge 2)”, “broadening the frame of reference (Challenge 5)”, “creating ecosystems that generate social capital (Challenge 9)”, or “creating a new legacy through data (Challenge 10)”, among others.

ERES Seal: The first tool for the promotion and management of diversity in different environments

In response to the 12 localized challenges at the national level, the ERES Seal proposes a method based on 6 ways to address and manage diversity in any environment.

This pioneering tool does not seek to audit diversity, but rather to encourage any person, group or organization to carry out a self-assessment of its position with respect to diversity, to promote collective reflection and to inspire the creation of new actions in favor of diversity, thus becoming safe spaces for diversity.
