The Future Game™ {Empowering positive futures in youth}
↗ Social impact
The present of young people is uncertain and volatile, but their future can be shared. At dot., we believe the key to understanding who they are lies in exploring that future together with them, using their own codes and ways of engaging. The Future Game is a research tool designed to uncover the visions and values of Generation Z. Through gamified experiences set in the future, it brings to the surface young people’s desires and aspirations around topics that matter to all of us. This knowledge is key to defining effective strategies aimed at young people, grounded in their deepest values.
Thanks to The Future Game research tool, we have developed both open and private studies that help shed light on the future. These investigations address current issues that directly impact young people.

Traditional research processes often fail to engage young people and capture valuable insights beyond the merely declarative. Our methodology not only improves active participation among young people, but also allows us to reach a deeper understanding of their values and perspectives.
The Future Game methodology is based on gamification, creating interactive “choose your own ending” narratives that place young people in future scenarios and invite them to make collective decisions that shape the development of the story. It is an innovative research methodology that has received national and international recognition in leading spaces and initiatives such as enlightED, UNESCO, the Green European Foundation, the Next Generation Foresight Awards, the European Social Innovation Competition, CVC Capital Partners and the 2nd International Congress on Social Innovation.
The creation and development of these narratives are rooted in our own methodology, GBR (Game-Based Research), which allows us to co-create with each client the experience best suited to their needs and to explore the areas of greatest interest in depth.
The Future Game experience unfolds in four phases, guiding young people from awareness to the activation of solutions with real impact.

1 — Feel
Participants explore their own abilities, recognise the strengths of the team, and connect major global challenges with their immediate reality.

2 — Envision
Building on that first vision, they explore future trends and broaden their perspective to define a more complete vision and map out an action plan aimed at addressing the challenge at hand.

3 — Make
Ideas take shape as bold, solid proposals. In this phase, the solution is developed across four key dimensions: impact, value, implementation and sustainability.

4 — Revelation
The final phase is about revealing what has been created, sharing the learning, and involving new people to activate the solutions and foster an active attitude towards the emerging future.
Through an open call, The Future Game selects young people who represent different perspectives around the chosen topic and invites them to play collectively and reflectively in a hybrid physical and online format. This dynamic experience generates both meaningful connections and valuable insights, enabling a deeper understanding of Generation Z’s values and worldview: What are the main generational gaps? What are their concerns and aspirations? What perspectives or backgrounds do they bring to shaping the future? Where do the main opportunity areas lie?
